You got the job!

#HappyDance

Once the initial joy passes, the wheels start to turn and your realize you have A LOT to do. This may be the opportunity of a lifetime for your career, but it comes with the opportunity for an out of state relocation. Yes, out of state. You must move to a new city far away from your favorite taco stand, family and friends (you may individually determine the order of gravity regarding that loss).

According to research from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, 58.7% of US residents never leave the state they were born in. With the recent jump in remote work, that number is likely shifting. But unless you are surrounded by friends and/or family in military, there is a good chance you are in unchartered territory and advice from well meaning friends/family about your move may not be that helpful. Case in point, have they ever had to simultaneously close on two different houses in two different states?
